AC Transit Fares Increase
AC Transit fares and passes increased on July 1 for the first time since 2011. The fare increase will help AC Transit cover rising inflationary costs and remain fiscally sustainable, officials said.
New rates effective July 1:
Adult: $2.25
Youth: $1.10
Senior/Disabled: $1.10

Free Pet Adoption
Through Saturday, July 8
Contra Costa Animal Services is offering free cat and dog adoptions through Saturday, July 8. Since the shelter is full and out of space, county officials are waiving the adoption fees to save as many pet lives as possible.

Love Our Greenway Ice Cream Saturday
Saturday, July 8
Rich City Rides is sponsoring the Love Our Greenway Ice Cream Saturday, a cleanup event followed by an ice cream social. Volunteers should bring gloves for the monthly greenway cleanup. There will be an ice cream social for volunteers after the cleanup.

Music on the Main’s Free Summer Concerts
Wednesday, July 26 and Aug. 23
Richmond Main Street is sponsoring the 16th annual Music on the Main, a free summer concert series that features live music, food and activities for the entire family.
Entertainment includes Niecey Living Single & the Obamah$, with Steven Green & The Lifeline (on July 26) and Andre Thierry with Caribbean Allstars (on Aug. 23).
Music on the Main takes place from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 26 and Wednesday, Aug. 23 at Marina Way and Macdonald Avenue. For more information, call 510-236-4049.
