Dean Brightman’s friend won this genuine Richmond brick, fired in a long-vanished kiln located in the current Brickyard Cove neighborhood, at an auction supporting Contra Costa County nonprofits. She then gave it to Brightman. (Dean Brightman / Bay City News)
